Two of Arsenal’s Brazilian attackers could be heading for the exit door this summer, with Mikel Arteta’s side making it clear they won’t stand in the way of either player if a suitable offer arrives, according to TEAMtalk.
Gabriel Jesus and Gabriel Martinelli have both found themselves on the fringes of the first team this season, and it appears the club has accepted that their long-term futures may lie elsewhere. Neither is seen as an irreplaceable figure anymore, which has caught the attention of Atletico Madrid, who have been in touch regarding both players.
Jesus, now 28, has barely played this season. His trip to train with Palmeiras in Brazil during the international break raised plenty of eyebrows, and it seems a homecoming is firmly on his mind. That said, he hasn’t closed the door on staying in Europe, with the Spanish capital emerging as one possible destination.
Martinelli is in a different but equally uncertain situation. At 24, he still has plenty of his career ahead of him, but talks of extending his stay in north London have stalled. With his current deal running to 2027 — and Arsenal holding a one-year option on top of that — the clock isn’t ticking loudly just yet, but interest from Atletico, Leipzig and Marseille suggests he won’t be short of options.
