England head coach Thomas Tuchel has provided an update on Noni Madueke’s injury, revealing that scans on the Arsenal winger were slightly more encouraging than initially feared, though he will still miss a number of days.
Madueke picked up the injury after a heavy collision with Uruguay striker Rodrigo Aguirre during England’s 1-1 international friendly at Wembley.
Following the match, Madueke was seen wearing a protective knee brace when leaving the stadium, sparking fears of a serious injury.
Speaking to the media on Monday, Tuchel provided more details regarding the injury:
“The assessment with the pictures was slightly better than his feeling. But he will be out for some days.”
