Former England midfielder Owen Hargreaves has floated the idea of Arsenal making a move for Como midfielder Nico Paz, describing the young Argentine as a future star and suggesting he could be a strong fit for Mikel Arteta’s side.
Hargreaves acknowledged that a deal would be complicated, with Real Madrid holding a buyback option on the 20-year-old, but argued that Arsenal should at least make an enquiry given the player’s obvious potential.
Speaking on TNT, Hargreaves said:
“There’s a young lad at Como, Nico Paz. There’s an option for him to go back to Real Madrid but if I’m Arsenal… This kid, you’ll see him at the World Cup. Mikel Arteta will already know that this boy will be a star and if you don’t ask you don’t get. A player like that could suit Arsenal.”
